Service Learning

During the second semester of my freshman year, I had the opportunity to service learn for Coleman Elementary School,  just about 3 blocks away from Dominican University of California. As someone who has had a background of experience in taking care of younger students, I was already familiar with the elementary school environment. Being around the students at this school was an eye opener for me considering it to be a very diverse community with students who come from different families. I quickly realized the importance of making each child feel safe and welcomed in their academic journey. As a student myself, I found that my presence and engagement made a meaningful impact, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
